I am exhausted. Just flat out exhausted. We have been nonstop going since I got here and I feel like it's all creeping up on me. I had the worst case of senioritis cleaning the enclosure this morning but finally got it all done. I'm hoping for a little pep in my step tomorrow since it's the last day.
I had a moment this afternoon when I thought "will I ever be this close to a panda ever again in my lifetime?" Then I remembered the certificate I will get at the end and plan on hitting up the ATL Zoo. I mean, I have 2 weeks of hands on experience in CHINA. Help me, help you. ;) No but seriously... it's going to be tough to say goodbye. Not only to the pandas but all the volunteers and staff.
It was a really nice day here and didn't rain at all (amazing). I took my Nikon and hung around the kindergarten as much as I could. I have some really great photos but I'll have to wait to share them till I get back. For now, here's one that I snapped on my phone.
Tasha, Judith, and I took our time walking back to stop at some of the other adult enclosures. I think it's suppose to rain tomorrow so this was really my last opportunity to get some good pictures and really to see so many out and about.
I can't express how cold it gets in our hostel. I legit think I would have died without our heading blankets. Before dinner I had no choice but to curl into my bed to try to get warm. And on top of that serious exhaustion set in. I barely got out of bed to eat but managed to get to the food, scarf down some essentials, and back to my hot pocket. After about an hour and a half of warming up and sleeping, I was one with the blanket and turned it down a few notches. I expected to burn out but I really didn't think it would be till I got home or at least on the plane.
A few invited me to Tom's bar but I just couldn't. I have to make it through not only tomorrow but the weekend. Resting is the only thing on my list to do tonight. And a shower. Sorry, Tom.
