Xiang Ge was super clean this morning. Yesterday, it looked like he had bamboo confetti all over his face. However, once he got new bamboo this morning... POOF... bamboo confetti everywhere again.
Typically, they stay inside their enclosures to eat the panda bread and carrots. Lan Zi came inside, took a piece of his panda bread and went outside to eat it. It was adorable, like he was enjoying the day because it wasn't raining.
During the break the staff put out some patches, mugs, and books we could buy... call me a sucker.
We also played cards which was fun. One of the girls had panda cards that were super cute.
Pandas on the way back.
There are few dogs that hang around our hostel and one lately has been coming inside when they serve dinner. He reminds me of Barkley, little beggar. I tried to take a photo of him earlier in the day (he has an adorable underbite) but once he saw my phone, he took off running. A bit self conscious I imagine.
I was Sarah's birthday so Stella planned a little surprise party and got a panda cake. I drew a little panda and everyone signed it like a card. The cake was amazing. It had little pineapple chunks inside with vanilla cake and frosting.
Sarah, Chelsea, and I decided to buy some beers down stairs to celebrate. We saw they restocked the fridge a dinner and there were gold cans that we assumed were beer. We bought 10 but when we got back to the social room, Stella busted out laughing and told us we bought tea. A lesson on assuming, right? We took them back down and said to the lady "píjiǔ" which mean beer. She brought out some boxes and we were able to switch them out. Thank god.
A few, including Sarah, have wanted to watch scary movies but you know me... I just could not. Not out here in the middle of nowhere China. Being that it was Sarah's birthday, we caved and watched The Conjuring. Well, they watched and I basically looked away the majority of the movie and drank my beer. I just can't. Hopefully, I can sleep.
